There are so many common misconceptions about Instagram Stories and I'm here to set the record straight... Because if you're not selling consistently on your Stories, you're missing out on some serious dollar.

In this blog post, I'm tackling 3 of the biggest MYTHS about selling I see circulating the online space and breaking down exactly why they're not true...

MYTH #1 - YOU CAN'T SELL WITH A SMALL AUDIENCE

I smell me some bullsh*t…

Wanna know a *not so* secret? I've signed dream clients on 4-figure packages and sold out multiple launches with less than 300 Instagram Story views. It's not about the number of people you have viewing your Stories, it's about THE WAY you show up for them!

MYTH #2 - IF YOU SEE A DIP IN STORY VIEWS WHILE YOU'RE SELLING, YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING WRONG

Actually, a dip in your Story views whilst you're selling is completely normal and it happens to everyone. The worst thing you could possibly do when you see a dip in your Story views is to stop selling... you need to show up for those who are STILL WATCHING because THEY are your ideal clients!

Those who stop watching were never going to purchase from you anyway, so don't worry about them.

MYTH #3 - SELLING EVERY DAY WILL ANNOY YOUR AUDIENCE

The best way to make sales is by talking about your offer every single day and the easiest, most authentic way to do this is through soft selling.

Soft selling is a sales approach focused on subtle persuasion and casual language that creates a low-pressure sales experience for the prospect - hence, you can sell your offers every day WITHOUT annoying your audience... a lot of the time they won't even realise you're selling!

Here are a few ways you can incorporate soft selling into your marketing strategy:

  • Include a CTA promoting your offer at the end of your caption

  •  Share your behind-the-scenes

  • Share the process as you create a new offer

  • Share a client case study

  • ️Record a mini training for Instagram Stories and promote your offer at the end

  • Give a roundup of the wins your clients have been experiencing recently

The sooner you stop believing these MYTHS, the sooner you'll see your business grow!
