New to bundles? In this episode, I’m answering some of the most common questions I’ve received about contributing to free list-building bundles, including…

🤔 What if I don’t have any low-ticket digital products to contribute?

🤔 Can you participate in too many bundles?

🤔 What to bundle hosts look for in contributors?

🤔 How can I monetize from free bundles?

“I don’t think I can participate in bundles because I don’t have low-ticket digital products. I only have courses that start at $500”

If you are in this position, I understand why you might think that bundles aren’t for you… but I would actually argue that you’re in one of the best positions to apply and contribute to bundles!

A lot of people think that you can only submit low-ticket offers, that are available to purchase on your website, to bundles. But for the majority of bundles, your offer doesn't have to be publicly available at all. Instead, you could take a lesson or module from your course and use that as your bundle offer.

I did this with my course, Content That Sells, by cloning the course in Thrivecart Learn and making the first module available, but restricting access to the rest of the course. Everyone who signed up could then watch the first module and implement that… and then once they finished, they could then see the remaining modules & lessons within the course, but that content was locked and they'd have to upgrade if they wanted to access the content and continue the course.

If you’re able to do something like this, it’s the perfect way to give your ideal clients a taster of your offer so that they can see what it’s like to work with you and get the foundations down, and if they get some kind of quick win through that then they are going to be much more likely to go on to purchase from you.

“Can you do too many bundles? I’m worried about burning out my list by promoting too many events.”

While bundles are great, they do require a certain amount of promotion, and if you’re always promoting bundles, your list might get bored of it. It definitely depends on your audience, but I would say that two bundles a month is absolutely fine!

The most important thing is to check the promo requirements and decide what you can reasonably commit to when considering what the rest of your promo calendar looks like as well. If you’re in the middle of a launch, you’re not going to participate in a bundle on top of that because it’s going to distract your audience from your launch. So make sure the bundles you participate in make sense for what else is going on in your business at that time.

If you are participating in multiple bundles, one thing you could do is add a trigger link to the top of your bundle emails, giving your audience the opportunity to opt-out from future event emails like this. Usually, people do this when they’re running a launch, but it can also work with for this and allows your subscribers to decide for themselves whether they receive these emails or not.

“As a bundle host, what do you look for in a contributor?”

This will depend on each individual host, but I can tell you that when I’m searching for contributors to my own bundles, there are a few things I look out for…

  1. Is their gift high-quality?

  2. Is the offer they submitted available on their website for free? (If they’ve submitted a lead magnet, they don’t meet the bundle requirements)

  3. Do their values align with my own?

  4. Are they a past contributor? If so, did they meet the promo requirements the last time they contributed?

How do I monetize through bundles?

Ensure your gift is relevant and has the potential to lead to another paid offer or service, so that it makes sense for your subscribers to move through the customer journey. Then, you can leverage tripwires and order bumps to make some quick extra cash… But the real magic happens within your nurture sequence where you can upsell your new subscribers into your paid offer!

I spoke about how you can make money as a bundle contributor in episode 96, so make sure to tune in to that episode for more detail!
